Seriously, from living five minutes from downtown Seattle...
...to living five minutes from downtown Statesboro.

But really....we have our very own water tower. You can see it in the picture...impressive.
All joking aside, we really like it here in Statesboro. It's definitely been a time of transition, but we're so thankful to have been blessed with the opportunity to go out and see the country! The last thing I wanted was to live in one state for my entire life. Obviously lots of people do just that and there's no shame in it...It's just something that I knew wasn't for me.
School is going incredibly well. I'm very close to finishing my first semester and it seems that I am making very good impressions. Classes aren't too bad (yet) and I'm playing in a really great wind ensemble! I have grand notions of making myself marketable for jobs and a doctoral program. In fact, I'm currently working on an article that I will be submitting for publication early in the new year! I'm studying lots of educational philosophy (my new kick) and I love it! I have become fascinated with the philosophy of David Elliott and have been reading a bunch of his writings on artistic citizenship. Very interesting stuff...and incredibly important as well. So important to me that I am finding it to be very likely that I will pursue a doctoral program that specializes in music education philosophy.
Good times to be had for sure down here. We miss all of our friends and family, but wouldn't trade this experience for anything!
